Terms of Use

Dated 17 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-17

Ochre Editions is a service operated by Valor Security. The registered company is valor registered name, valor registered address. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Valor Security, operating Ochre Editions. "You" means the person using the site, the API or our MCP server, and anyone an agent acts for.

These terms cover your use of Ochre Editions. Other documents add to them:

By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Who can use Ochre Editions

  • Anyone may browse and download works without an account.
  • You must be at least 13 to create an account.
  • Purchases are for adults. If you are under 18, you may buy only with a parent's or guardian's permission, and they are responsible for the purchase.
  • Physical prints ship to addresses in the United States only. Downloads are available worldwide.

Your account

  • Give us accurate details and keep them current.
  • Keep your password, passkeys and recovery codes to yourself. Turn on two-factor sign-in if you can.
  • Keep one account. Several accounts used to get around a limit, such as the one edition per person in a drop, break these terms.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what an agent or API key you authorise does with it.
  • Tell us at security email if you think someone else has used your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time from your account page. The Privacy Policy explains what we keep afterwards and why.

Content you give us

You may post reviews and review photos, upload a photo of your wall to plan a gallery wall, upload your own photo to print, and send gift messages and return photos.

  • You keep ownership of what you upload or write.
  • You give us a licence to store, process, display and reproduce it as the service needs: to show your review and approved review photos publicly, to build your wall plans, to print and ship your order, and to keep records. The licence is worldwide, free of charge, and ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep under the Privacy Policy.
  • Wall photos, your own photos for printing and return photos are private. We never show them publicly.
  • You confirm you have the right to share what you upload, including the consent of anyone identifiable in it.
  • We moderate review photos and own-photo prints before they are shown or printed. We may refuse or remove content that breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
  • We keep what you write exactly as written and display it safely. We don't edit your words.

Acceptable use, in short

Use the site lawfully and fairly. Don't upload what isn't yours to share, harass anyone, attack the service, guess promo codes, test stolen cards, or use bots to take drop editions. Automated access is welcome within the Agent & API Terms. Security research is welcome within our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy. The full rules are in the Acceptable Use Policy.

The art, and what is ours

The artworks are in the public domain. Every work in the catalogue comes from a museum's open-access programme, and the museum marks it CC0 or public domain. We claim no copyright in the images of those works. Each work is credited "Courtesy of" the museum that holds it, with a link to the museum's own record. The Open-Access Credits page lists each museum and its terms.

No museum endorses us. No museum endorses, sponsors, partners with or sells through Ochre Editions, and we use no museum's logo. A museum's name appears only to credit the source of a work.

Museum text such as label text is shown as the museum published it, with its source named.

What is ours. The Ochre Editions name and mark, the site's design, layout and interface, our software, and the text we write ourselves (collection introductions and other editorial copy, which we label as ours) belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy them for another site or service. You may quote short passages with credit.

Free downloads are yours to use as the public domain allows, including commercially. Some museums ask for a credit line; it's a courtesy, not a condition.

Third-party services

Payments run through Stripe, and you may sign in with Google or GitHub. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We aren't responsible for them, but we choose them with care.

Suspension and ending

We may suspend or close an account, cancel an order or drop edition with a refund, revoke an agent's access, or block a client if it breaks these terms or puts other people or the service at risk. Where it's safe to, we'll tell you why. You can stop using the service at any time.

Disclaimers

We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it "as is". Museum data can contain errors, and screens show colour differently from paper. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Your rights under the Terms of Sale and under consumer law that can't be excluded are not affected.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, or for lost profits or data.
  • Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100, whichever is greater.

Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Indemnity

If you break these terms, or upload content you had no right to share, and a third party makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of governing law, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes go to the courts of governing law, unless the consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts. Either of us may use a small-claims court where it has jurisdiction. Please write to us first at legal email; most problems are quicker to solve directly.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Each version carries a date and a version number, and your account records the version you accepted and when. For a material change we'll tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new version applies.

General

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we haven't waived it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a successor operator of the service, with notice to you.
