Ochre Editions is a service operated by Valor Security (valor registered name). This notice explains the cookies the site sets.

Essential cookies only

We set only the cookies the site needs to work. We use no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies, and no third-party cookies on our pages. Because every cookie is essential, we don't show a consent banner; this notice is the whole story.

Cookie What it does How long it lasts
Session Keeps you signed in. It holds a random token, is renewed each time you sign in, and can't be read by scripts on the page. Until you sign out or the session expires
Security token Protects forms against cross-site request forgery, by proving a form was sent from our site. For your session
Cart Remembers what's in your cart, whether or not you're signed in. It is signed so it can't be altered. Until you check out or the cart expires
Preference Remembers a display preference you have chosen on the site. Until you change it or clear your cookies

Our cookies are sent only over secure connections. Images are served from a separate address that sets no cookies.

Stored in your browser

One thing is kept in your browser's local storage rather than a cookie, and never sent to us: if you share a work to Mastodon, the address of your Mastodon server (oe:mastodon), so you don't have to type it again. Clearing your browser's site data removes it. Nothing else, including your walk through the galleries, is stored on your device.

Other sites

When you pay, you move to Stripe's checkout page, and Stripe may set its own cookies there, for example to prevent fraud. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, those sites set their own cookies. Their cookie policies apply.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. If you block ours, you won't be able to sign in, keep a cart or check out, but you can still browse and download works.

Changes

If we ever want to use a cookie that isn't essential, we'll ask you first and update this notice.
