Accessibility Statement

Dated 17 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-17

Ochre Editions is a service operated by Valor Security (valor registered name). We want everyone to be able to browse the collections, download works and order prints.

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across the site. In practice that means:

  • every artwork image has alt text built from the museum's own title and description;
  • the framing configurator, cart, checkout, drop queue and zoom viewer can all be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator throughout;
  • text and controls meet contrast requirements, and colour is never the only way a choice or state is shown;
  • buttons and links are at least 44 by 44 pixels;
  • size and frame choices are labelled radio groups that screen readers announce;
  • the drop queue announces your position and the editions left, no more than every 10 seconds;
  • animation respects your device's reduced-motion setting.

Known limits

This statement is a draft, written before the first full audit. These are the limits we know of:

  • Payment happens on Stripe's checkout page, whose accessibility Stripe controls. That includes any verification challenge Stripe shows.
  • Alt text comes from what each museum publishes, and its quality varies. Some works have only a title and artist.
  • Room previews and the gallery-wall planner are visual by nature. Print sizes are always stated in text alongside them.
  • Certificate PDFs have not yet been checked for screen-reader access. A certificate's key details are also on its verification page.
  • The site has a light theme only.

We will update this statement after the audit.
