Printing Your Own Photo
Dated 17 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-17
Ochre Editions is a service operated by Valor Security (valor registered name). You can upload a photo of your own and have it printed, framed or put on canvas with the same choices as any work in our catalogue. These terms apply when you do. They add to our Terms of Sale and Acceptable Use Policy.
What you confirm
You need an account to print your own photo. Before you upload, you tick a box to confirm that:
- you own the photo, or have permission from whoever owns it to have it printed;
- anyone identifiable in it has agreed, or, for a child, their parent or guardian has;
- the photo doesn't break our Acceptable Use Policy.
If any of this isn't true, please don't upload the photo. If someone makes a claim against us because it wasn't, you are responsible for it, as our Terms of Use set out.
The record we keep
We keep a record of your confirmation with the upload, your account, the time and the version of these terms. We keep it as long as we keep the order records it belongs to, so we can show that the print was made at your request and on your word.
Your photo stays private
- Your photo is never shown publicly, never listed, and never offered to anyone else.
- We use it only to show you previews and to make your order. Our print partner receives the print file for the time it needs to make the print.
- We remove all metadata from the copy we keep, including any location data. The file as you sent it is deleted after 30 days.
- You can delete the photo from your account. Records of orders already placed are kept as our Privacy Policy describes.
Sizes and quality
The sizes we offer depend on your photo's resolution, just as for catalogue works: at least 150 pixels per inch at the chosen size. The photo is printed at its true proportions, without cropping.
We may refuse
Every own-photo print is reviewed before it goes to our print partner. We may refuse to print a photo that seems to break these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy, or that we have reason to think you don't have the right to print. If we refuse after you have paid, we refund you in full.
Your rights in the photo
You keep every right in your photo. You give us only the permission we need to store it, prepare it, print it and ship it for your order. We don't use it for anything else.
Copyright concerns
If you think someone has uploaded your photo to print without permission, see our Copyright and DMCA Policy.
