# Accessibility Statement

Ochre Editions is a service operated by Valor Security
({{VALOR_REGISTERED_NAME}}). We want everyone to be able to browse the
collections, download works and order prints.

## Our target

We aim to meet the **Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level
AA** across the site. In practice that means:

- every artwork image has alt text built from the museum's own title and
  description;
- the framing configurator, cart, checkout, drop queue and zoom viewer can all
  be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator throughout;
- text and controls meet contrast requirements, and colour is never the only
  way a choice or state is shown;
- buttons and links are at least 44 by 44 pixels;
- size and frame choices are labelled radio groups that screen readers
  announce;
- the drop queue announces your position and the editions left, no more than
  every 10 seconds;
- animation respects your device's reduced-motion setting.

## Known limits

This statement is a draft, written before the first full audit. These are the
limits we know of:

- **Payment** happens on Stripe's checkout page, whose accessibility Stripe
  controls. That includes any verification challenge Stripe shows.
- **Alt text** comes from what each museum publishes, and its quality varies.
  Some works have only a title and artist.
- **Room previews and the gallery-wall planner** are visual by nature. Print
  sizes are always stated in text alongside them.
- **Certificate PDFs** have not yet been checked for screen-reader access. A
  certificate's key details are also on its verification page.
- The site has a light theme only.

We will update this statement after the audit.

## Tell us about a barrier

If something on the site doesn't work for you, write to {{LEGAL_EMAIL}}. Tell
us the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive
technology you use. A person reads every message and replies.
