# Numazu Ki Kure, in The Floating World

Utagawa Hiroshige designed this in about 1834, aged about 27. It is now at The Met in New York.

Our note:

> In the gathering dusk at Numazu, a full moon rises over the river as travellers walk towards the town, among them a pilgrim carrying a large red tengu mask on his back, the sign of a journey to the Konpira shrine.
