# Rouen Cathedral, West Façade, in Impressionism

Claude Monet painted this in 1894, aged 54. It is now at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.

Our note:

> The west front of Rouen Cathedral fills the canvas, its portal, gable, rose window and spires dissolving into a crust of blue, peach, lavender and brown paint.
