# The Four Seasons: Autumn, in Jacques Callot's contemporaries

Abraham Bosse made this in 1635, aged 33. It is now at the Cleveland Museum of Art.

From the museum's label:

> Depictions of the four seasons in the early modern period often emphasized timeless agrarian seasonal activities. In this image of autumn, however, Abraham Bosse portrayed instead a group of middle-class people in contemporary costume.
